While farting is very much a common bodily function, it’s still nevertheless an embarrassing encounter and one that most would try to laugh it off when it happens in public.
A mechanic in Melaka found himself thrown into jail after he admitted to assaulting his sister over a farting incident which took place last week.

According to a report by MalaysiaGazette, the incident took place at the backseat of a car parked at the Lotus supermarket in Jalan Peringgit, Melaka Tengah, at around 11am on September 11.
Based on a source, the accused, 37-year-old Ridzuan Samsudin, had farted in the car and subsequently laughed.

However, his sister Nurul Hanis Samsudin wasn’t amused and proceeded to scold him for passing air. She also brought up several past incidents while reprimanding the accused.
Angered by her scolding, Ridzuan berated his sister before punching her several times in the nose and mouth, causing her mouth to bleed and swell.
Nurul Hanis later filed a police report and sought treatment at the Melaka Hospital, where doctors confirmed she had suffered soft tissue injuries to her mouth, right cheek, and left forehead.

Jailed for a week
Ridzuan was charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code at the Ayer Keroh Magistrate’s Court, where he faces up to two years in prison, a maximum fine of RM2,000, or both if convicted.
Deputy public prosecutor Wardah Ishhar called for the court to impose a suitable punishment due to the injuries inflicted on the victim.
Ridzuan, who was unrepresented, pleaded for a lighter sentence and said that he had to provide for his wife and six kids.

Magistrate Khairunnisak Hassni ordered Ridzuan to spend a week in jail starting from the date of his arrest on Sept 14.
