M’sian Man Leaps From 3rd Floor Of Building To Escape Police Raid, Dies At The Scene

Another man, who also jumped along with him, survived.
A local man tried to evade capture from police following a raid that took place at a residential unit on Jalan Gombak last night (Mar 11).

In the midst of doing so however, he leapt to his death after attempting to avoid arrest by jumping from the third floor, reported Media Selangor.

In a statement by Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus, he said police carried out the raid at around 9.07pm, adding that the raid was linked to a motorcycle theft case.

Marsus said two men, including the victim, tried to escape by jumping from the third floor of the building.

However, the victim didn’t survive the jump and died at the scene, while the other man escaped a similar fate.

Police have since classified the case as sudden death (SDR).

Meanwhile, a total of 12 individuals were arrested in the raid, which comprised of four men, five women and three children, aged between three and 42, including two Indonesian nationals.

Two stolen motorcycles and various drugs were also seized by police.

Fadil urged the public not to speculate about the incident to avoid confusion and public concern as police carry out their investigations.
