According to a report by The Star, the freak accident took place at about 5.38pm last Sunday (Jan 12) when the 24-year-old victim was walking from Singapore to Malaysia.

Johor Baru (South) police chief Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat said the driver of a car that was driving from the opposite direction lost control, causing the car to skid and hit a road divider before colliding into the victim.
As seen from the footage, the impact of the crash was so strong that the victim was flung over the barrier which separated the car and motorcycle lane before landing at the motorcycle lane.

The aftermath of the crash was also shown in the footage, where the car’s front rear was severely damaged.

As for the victim, he was seen lying on the road while he was being attended to by passersby before an ambulance arrived to take him to the hospital.

Raub added that the car driver and passenger were Singaporeans aged 21 and 23. One of them sustained an injury to his left arm due to the crash.
The case is currently being investigated under Regulation 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959.
