A man was left shellshocked after he came looking for his father after years of losing contact, only to find the latter’s skeletal remains greeting him in turn.
According to Sentul district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari, the elderly man’s corpse was found inside an apartment in Kepong and police were alerted of the incident on Sept 5, reported NST.

Sukarno added that the young man last saw his father in 2020, where the former lived by himself after divorcing from his wife.
NST reported that the victim’s son went to the apartment to check on him after he was unable to contact his father.
When he arrived at the apartment, he found the door locked and had to break it down to enter, where he stumbled upon his father’s skeleton.
While the exact time of death has yet to be determined, it is believed that the victim had died four years ago.
Meanwhile, BuletinTV3 reported that a message about the the victim’s demise going undetected for years had gone viral on social media.
In the message, it mentioned that the incident went unnoticed by the local community as the victim had previously informed friends and neighbors of his plans to return to his hometown before he vanished without a trace.
News of the victim’s skeletal remains being discovered also left the apartment’s residents baffled as there was no foul stench in the area to indicate that there was a body rotting away.
The victim’s remains were handed over to family members for burial and the case has been classified as sudden death (SDR).
