A shocking video that recently went viral has led to a police report filed by a young man who found himself at the centre of an incident involving a food delivery rider in Kuala Lumpur.
The video captured the young man, identified as Nazz Hairie, wearing a red blazer as he intervened in a dispute between the delivery rider and a security guard on Friday.
Nazz Hairie’s perspective
Nazz Hairie, in his report filed on the same day the video circulated, claimed that he had to take action when the rider attempted to attack a security guard at his workplace.
In the report, he stated, “On Friday around 1 pm, while I was at work in Kuala Lumpur, my colleagues told me that my video had been shared on Facebook by an unknown individual.”
“In the video, it depicts the security officer initially preventing the rider from entering the building’s main lobby to make a delivery. The situation was eventually resolved, and the rider received instructions from the recipient to deliver the goods in the main lobby.”
Nazz Hairie continued, “A heated verbal argument ensued between the security guard and the rider. Following the incident, the rider attempted to physically assault the security guard by placing his hand on the guard’s neck. I was able to intervene and prevent further escalation.”

He also mentioned that a woman, whose name was included in his report, inaccurately shared the video of the incident on Facebook.
According to Nazz Hairie, the video did not accurately depict the entire situation.
“To clarify, the matter was resolved amicably between the rider and the security guard. I decided to file a police report to counter the misleading video, fearing potential repercussions on my personal life, my family, and my career,” he emphasised.
A copy of Nazz Hairie’s police report was made public on X yesterday’s afternoon, along with a photo that featured a young man believed to be the delivery rider in the viral video.
Social Media backlash
The video has sparked a storm of controversy on social media, with numerous netizens expressing strong disapproval of Nazz Hairie’s actions, describing them as cruel and inhumane.
The root of the conflict
The root cause of the incident appears to be a disagreement between the delivery rider and the security guard.
The security guard initially prevented the rider from entering the premises, while the customer who ordered the delivery insisted that the rider be allowed to enter the building to complete the delivery.
Tensions escalated, leading to the rider reportedly using harsh language towards the foreign security guards, ultimately resulting in them calling for assistance.
The situation spiralled into a verbal altercation, which eventually turned physical.
In the viral video, the delivery rider can be seen lying on the ground with his hands restrained to limit his movements.
