A Malaysian man has sparked discussion online after admitting that he feels insecure about marrying his fiancée, simply because she earns more than him.
The anonymous confession was shared on Threads, where it quickly caught the attention of netizens.
‘She earns more than I do’
In the post, the man revealed that his future wife’s income was higher than his.

According to him, not only does she earn more, she also drives a more expensive car. What affected him the most, however, was the price of one of her handbags.
He claimed that the handbag alone was equivalent to three months of his salary.
Unsure about wedding
The couple is reportedly planning to get married after Raya. However, the man admitted that he is now having second thoughts.
I feel like not proceeding with the wedding after Raya later. I don’t know…I just feel inadequate”.
His confession reflected a sense of self doubt, as he compared his financial standing to that of his fiancée.
The confession has reignited conversations about traditional expectations placed on men to be the primary breadwinner and how shifting financial dynamics in modern relationships can sometimes trigger feelings of inadequacy.
