We all remember the cherished childhood days where most of our family outings were near the sea or waterfall. Aside from that, who could ever forget the delicious meals our mothers packed for us to eat after playing in the water?
While most would have their meals by the side of the river/waterfall, a young man decided to give it a playful twist by having his meal while submerged in the water.
Eats nasi campur while taking a dip inside river
In a 25-second clip shared on TikTok by a user named @kalmsyr, it showed a young man digging into a meal of nasi campur while half of his body was inside a river named Sungai Rusa in Balik Pulau, Penang.
In the clip, he was seen using a rock as his ‘table’ to place the packet of nasi campur on and ate it heartily.
He was also teased by his friends for his antics, but remained unperturbed and continued to savour his food.
The video was humorously captioned as ‘anjing laut’ (seal in Malay) as a way to poke fun at the young man’s unusual way of eating and soaking himself in the river’s cool waters.
Netizens tickled
The clip has since garnered over 160,000 views on TikTok, where netizens were amused by the young man’s antics.
One wrote, ‘The water has become stagnant and can’t pass through’, to which the OP replied, ‘He’s the reason why there’s no water in Penang’, a reference to the past few days where the state experience water cuts.
Another commented: ‘I thought eating in a car is already extreme but this…hmmm’
One jokingly remarked: ‘So it’s true that mermaids do exist.’
