M’sian Man Drowns In Lake At Subang Jaya Private University

RIP.
A young man has died in an apparent drowning in a lake located within a private university in Subang Jaya yesterday.

According to The Star, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis said they received a report at 4.48pm, with witnesses saying they saw the victim falling into the lake.

China Press reported that when firemen managed to pull the man out from the lake, he had already died.

Subang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Bin Wan Mamat said the victim was identified as a 32-year-old local man.

He added preliminary investigations found no criminal elements involved, and the case has been classified as sudden death (SDR).

“The victim’s body has been sent to the University of Malaya Medical Centre mortuary for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.

“Anyone with further information is urged to contact the chief of the Sunway Police Station at 03-5638 2122 to assist in the investigation,” he said.

University’s statement

The private university also released a statement regarding the incident, where it wrote the victim was neither a staff nor a student at the university.

It added it’s cooperating with the authorities and called upon the public to not disseminate “unverified information, photos, or videos related to the incident.”
