M’sian Man Charges As Low As RM5 To Help People Fill Up Forms At KDN Jalan Duta

He may call it “penulis borang”, but many call it a blessing.
Filling up official forms may sound easy, but anyone who has dealt with government paperwork knows how confusing it can get, especially when you are unsure which section to fill in or what documents to prepare.

Recently, an elderly uncle caught the attention of Malaysians after a woman shared that he is still offering form filling services at KDN (Kementerian Dalam Negeri/Ministry of Home Affairs of Malaysia) Jalan Duta, charging only around RM5 to RM10 depending on the form.

Elderly uncle still helps people fill up forms

In a post shared on Threads, the woman said she was surprised to see that form writers still exist today.

She wrote that the uncle charges RM5 per form, while some forms may cost around RM5 to RM10.

She also said that anyone who is too lazy to fill in forms or unsure how to do it can look for the uncle at KDN Jalan Duta.

Photos attached to the post showed the elderly man sitting at a small table with several forms in front of him.

A sign attached to his walker read, “Filling Forms | Penulis Borang”.

Netizens call him a “walking library”

The post quickly gained attention, with many netizens expressing admiration for the uncle.

One user claimed that the uncle seems to know several languages and is also familiar with legal matters, government procedures, what forms to fill in, and what documents are needed.

The user described him as a “walking library”, adding that people often ask him many questions because he explains things slowly and clearly.

The same user also said it is good that he can continue doing such work, especially for elderly people who still want to contribute and earn some income.

Some said they need his help too

Some netizens also admitted that they personally dislike filling up forms, whether physical or online.

I need this uncle because I hate filling up forms,” one user joked.

Another netizen commented that the uncle looked sophisticated, pointing out his neat outfit and polished shoes.

One user also shared that they had met the uncle twice before.

According to the user, the uncle had helped them fill up forms to register the birth certificates of their daughter and son.

The user claimed that the uncle was previously stationed inside a JPN office, but was later asked to place his table outside.

They also said the uncle had once been absent for a period of time because he had been hospitalised.

Useful for those unfamiliar with forms

Others pointed out that such services can be useful, especially for foreigners or people who are unfamiliar with government forms.

One netizen said that since the uncle is stationed at KDN, there may be foreigners who do not know how to fill up the required forms.

While the post began on a lighthearted note, many Malaysians were ultimately touched by the uncle’s quiet dedication.

To many, he was not just helping people write neatly on paper, but also making a stressful process a little less confusing for those who needed guidance.
