While many women are taught to be cautious when heading out alone, one woman learned that even being with family doesn’t always keep danger at bay, especially when creeps are hiding in plain sight.
That’s exactly what happened to Facebook user Erny Nuryassmien, who shared a disturbing encounter that took place during a casual outing with her loved ones at a shopping mall in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.
A suspicious presence
As Erny entered the mall with her family, she noticed something off, a young man who seemed to be tailing her while holding his phone upright in a suspicious manner.
At first, she ignored it, assuming it was nothing. But it wasn’t just her instincts sounding the alarm. Her children soon noticed too.
He keeps looking at us, Umi,” they told her.
That was when she knew it wasn’t just paranoia. She immediately informed her husband, who began following the man discreetly to keep an eye on him.
Confrontation leads to a disturbing discovery
Still feeling uneasy, Erny decided to confront the man head-on. To protect herself and gather proof, she began recording the interaction.
And it was then that her worst fears were confirmed.
The man had indeed been secretly recording her with zoomed-in shots focused on her back.
But that wasn’t all.
She wasn’t the only target
Upon checking the man’s phone, Erny discovered several other disturbing clips.
He had also recorded pregnant women and even women in niqabs, all without their knowledge.
He had a few videos of me, zoomed in. And even more videos of pregnant women. Even those fully covered. Seems like he has a fetish for pregnant women,” she said.
The situation escalated quickly. Her husband confronted the man, and according to Erny, the guy was so scared that he wet himself in front of the crowd.
A shocking confession
After the confrontation, the man was handed over to the police, and Erny filed a report.
During questioning, the man, a 20-year-old local university student confessed that he had a habit of secretly recording women to “build a collection” for his own pleasure.
He admitted that he’s been doing this for a while. Said he likes making a stockpile of videos to satisfy himself at home,” Erny revealed.
Although she initially wanted to press charges, she later decided to withdraw the report citing his young age and a moment of compassion.
But that didn’t mean she was letting it go entirely.
No legal action but not the end
In a follow-up, Erny explained that she didn’t want to withdraw the report but was told by the police that no physical contact was made, so it didn’t qualify as a criminal case.
Still determined to see justice served, she shared that she planned to bring the matter up with the man’s university to ensure disciplinary action is taken.
A call for courage and vigilance
Erny ended her post with a strong message directed at women and young men alike.
To all the girls and women out there, don’t be afraid to stand up for what’s right. Record it as proof. Don’t stay silent. Even wearing a niqab doesn’t make you safe. A fetish is a fetish, no matter how covered you are.”
To the younger generation, imagine if your mother or sister went through this. How would that make you feel?”

Her post quickly went viral, gaining over 1.7 million views. Social media users flooded the comments with outrage, calling out the man’s disgusting behaviour and urging Erny to refile the report to prevent more victims.

Latest update: Report still active
Although there were earlier claims that the report was withdrawn, Erny has since clarified in an update that she went to the police station and the report is still active.
