At 37 years old, the woman still struggled to differentiate between needs and wants, prompting the man to make the difficult decision to end the relationship.

In the confession, he expressed, “I can’t and don’t want to change other people, so I’ll save myself first.”

Netizens weigh in: A mix of support and curiosity

Surprisingly, many netizens showed support for the man’s decision. Comments flooded in, praising his wisdom in walking away from the relationship.

“New year and you got wiser already. Congrats, brother!” one user wrote.

Another comment added, ‘Wow. Good job, boss. This type of woman, so Instagram-focused, living in her own unimaginable bubble. She’s like something out of Inventing Anna on Netflix.’

One user even offered a more in-depth perspective: ‘It’s really good that you left your ex-girlfriend, anonymous. She seems unrealistic, materialistic, and fake. That was just your ex, what if she became your wife?

‘You’d be in trouble, any issue that comes up, you’ll end up in court like some plot twist. Yikes… keep your distance. Hope you find someone better, rational, and capable of thinking. Amen.

However, some wondered about the woman’s income and how she could have racked up RM50k in credit card debt.

‘RM50k debt is normal for me, do you think it’s easy to get a credit limit of RM50k? Maybe you should ask how much her income is.’

‘RM50k debt, her income must be between 15k-25k a month. You just broke up, right? Tell us how much her income is. Really, 80% of women can’t tell the difference between needs and wants when they have money. Have you never tried to lead or advise your girlfriend?
