A man has been hailed as a hero online after a viral video showed him rushing fearlessly into the flames to save several cats from a burning cat shelter.
The video was posted to TikTok by a netizen named @karlzidane, which captured man’s heroic act at the cat shelter located in Taman Perling, Johor.

In the 27-second clip, the man is seen climbing over the fence to get to the cats who were kept inside their cages as the shelter burned away.
Upon locating the cages which had cats inside it, he began tossing them over the fence in order to prevent the flames from getting to the felines.

Terrified mewls from the felines could be heard reverberating in the background as more people stepped in to help the man in rescuing the cats.
In a separate video, it showed several bystanders attempting to put out the fire.

In the comment section, @karlzidane mentioned that a total of eight cages were snatched out from the blaze and he praised the man for his courage in rescuing the felines.
The owner of the shelter also commented on the video, saying that she wasn’t around at the time as her relative had gotten into a road accident on the same day.
The owner also revealed that while a number of cats were saved, many were lost to the flames as well.
Netizens commend man’s bravery
The video of the man risking his life to save the cats has since garnered 1.8 million views so far and netizens were full of praise for his courage.
