M’sian Man Beaten Up For Forgetting To Pay For RM9 Burger

All over a burger order.
Sometimes, one might unintentionally forget to pay up for something they’ve bought from a stall. However, it’s no excuse for the person to be assaulted over it either.

A young man was left badly bruised after he was beaten up by several over an RM9 burger order he had forgotten to pay for.

The victim was later identified as 20-year-old Mohamad Hamizam Saudi, reported Sinar Harian.

Kuantan district police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Mohd Zahari Wan Busu said the incident transpired after the burger seller was unhappy over the victim forgetting to pay for the burgers he ordered on Sunday (Mar 17).

He added this then led to a dispute between the victim and the burger seller, resulting in a scuffle in front of the burger stall at Batu Tiga, Jalan Gambang-Kuantan.

The suspect (burger seller) was displeased with the victim for not paying for the two burgers purchased for RM9 at 1am on Sunday.

“Three men then proceeded to hit, kick, and stomp on the victim, resulting in injuries to his left temple and body pains,” he said.

Lodged police report

Wan Mohd Zahari said the victim later lodged a police report over the incident on Mar 19.

However, he added that based on conversation recordings, the victim is unsure whether he was assaulted by three men.

“He couldn’t see clearly at the time but remembered that one of the suspects used his hands and legs to hit him.

“None of the suspects uttered criminal threats against the victim nor used any weapons. The victim also didn’t retaliate when he was beaten up.

“The case is now being probed under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt,” he said.
