An unemployed man in Seberang Jaya, Penang, allegedly killed his wife at the apartment where they lived together on Jalan Tuna.
After committing the deed, he stayed with the body for four days before going to the police station and confessed to the murder yesterday morning (Dec 11).
Suspect brought back to crime scene
Following the 28-year-old suspect’s confession, police headed over to the apartment and found the 44-year-old victim’s body inside one of the rooms, reported MalaysiaGazette.

A slash wound, believed to have been caused by a sharp weapon, was also found on her neck. An initial examination carried out by Penang Hospital forensic pathologist Datuk Dr Zahari Noor also indicated possible signs of suffocation, reported NST.
The suspect was later taken back to the crime scene to assist police in their investigation after he was arrested.
He was also found to have several prior criminal records, including offences for drugs and criminal intimidation.

MalaysiaGazette reported that the victim, who is the mother of five kids, was an employee at a local supermarket and had married the suspect two years ago.
A post-mortem will be carried out to determine the exact cause of death.
When contacted by reporters, Penang police chief Datuk Azizee Ismail said the case is now being probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
