KUALA LUMPUR– A video of a Light Rail Transit (LRT) user occupying seat with multiple bags has gone viral on social media, sparking criticism from netizens.
The video, which was uploaded by @bckupacc99 on Twitter, showed the LRT user sitting comfortably while other passengers were forced to stand as there were no available seats.
The user was seen with multiple bags on the seats next to her and did not appear to make any effort to move them, despite other passengers clearly needing the space.
“It’s common sense for people to immediately move their ‘paper bag’ to the side if someone wants to sit, but this person didn’t seem to care even though people were looking,” the caption reads in the video.

Netizens call for consideration towards others
Many netizens have criticized the woman’s behavior, calling her selfish for not considering the needs of others.
Some have suggested that it is common sense to move the bags to make room for other passengers.
“I am a daily LRT user, and such people do exist. When I want to sit, I usually lift their bags and put them below,” another netizen commented.
It is not clear if any action was taken against the LRT user in question, but many have suggested that people should first give her a warning before jumping to conclusions.
“Instead of assuming, we could just ask her to move the bags. She couldn’t have refused,” another netizen commented.
The incident serves as a reminder for all public transportation users to be considerate towards their fellow passengers and to make room for those who need it.
