The family of a local man was left bewildered after he shockingly passed away following a meeting with an unidentified man last Friday (Aug 29).
The victim was a loklok hawker who hailed from Ipoh but ran his business alongside his family in Johor Bahru.

China Press reported that the incident was brought to light by an insurance agent, who recounted the story on Facebook.
According to the agent, the victim left his home at around 6am with the suspect in an e-hailing car. However, his family were later contacted by a hospital at informing them of his death.
Upon reviewing the hospital’s CCTV footage, a Perodua Axia and several motorcycles were seen pulling up at the emergency department at 7.45am and leaving the scene after sending the victim into the building.
Doctors said the victim didn’t have a heartbeat upon arrival and died after 23 minutes of resuscitation efforts.
In the Facebook post, the agent wondered what exactly transpired within the 1.5 hours the victim was out from the house, adding that “a healthy person had returned as a lifeless body.”
Foul play at work?
The agent said the victim’s family did not know the suspect previously, but with the help of friends, they managed to track down his place of residence and found the victim’s IC and mobile phone at his place.
The family went to the suspect’s house to look for him and saw him return for a short while before taking off on his motorcycle. If he has nothing to hide, why run away?”
The victim’s remains have since been brought back to Ipoh for funeral arrangements and a police report was lodged as well.
When interviewed by China Press, the agent said the suspect hasn’t been found yet and is believed to be working in Singapore.
Meanwhile, the Johor Bahru South Police Deputy Chief told the Chinese daily that based on the post-mortem report, no criminal elements were found and the case was classified as sudden death.
However, he reiterated that police are still on the hunt for the suspect.
