The man, a former lecturer at a private higher education institution in Malaysia, revealed his struggle with a stagnant salary of RM1,900 per month over five years, according to mstar.

Faced with escalating living costs and unmet financial needs, he made a life-altering decision to pursue work in Singapore.

In Singapore, his job as a cleaner offered a basic salary of S$3,100 (approximately RM10,815), significantly higher than his previous earnings.

This wage change dramatically eased his financial burdens.

Although no longer bearing the title of educator, he is grateful that the basic salary he received is much higher compared to his monthly income before.

“Alhamdulillah, I got work as a cleaner, the basic salary is S$3,100 (RM10,815). You can convert it yourself,” he added.

In the meantime, he also agrees that working in the neighboring country is a ‘shortcut’ for him to solve the financial problems he faced.

He himself could breathe a sigh of relief with just the first salary he received as a cleaning worker.

“Those who have no way to pay off debts, debts of tens of thousands… this is the shortcut you have. The first salary can pay for so many things. You will not regret it.

“If others say that the traffic jams in Singapore are terrible. Believe that once you start working, you can handle it because you feel what you get is worth it,” he said.
