A Threads user recently joked about reporting “lazy Shell staff” after spotting a suspicious gathering inside a convenience store.
However, the “staff” in question turned out to be four cats.
‘Staff’ spotted chilling inside store
In the viral post shared by the OP, several cats were seen hanging out in an aisle of what appears to be a Shell convenience store.
The photo shows four cats casually gathered on the floor between snack shelves, with some sitting down while one was lounging.
Another appeared to be staring directly at the camera with what many joked was a judging expression.
The caption jokingly read: “Lazy Shell staff. I’m going to report them one by one.”
‘Still holding a grudge’
In a follow up post, the user shared another photo of the same group of cats standing together.
“Only got up to work after getting caught. One of them still looks like it’s holding a grudge against me,” the OP jested.
Speaking to WeirdKaya, the OP said the cats were spotted at a Shell petrol station at Jalan Klang Lama.
Netizens join in
The post quickly drew amused reactions from other users, with many continuing the joke that the cats were actually store employees.
‘I don’t like seeing staff gathering like this. They must be gossiping about customers.’
Another user commented that if the cats were not gossiping, they were probably planning something.
Others suggested the cats could actually be monitoring customers.
Meanwhile, several users jokingly asked for the location of the Shell station so they could go and “complain about the lazy workers”.
