Job interviews are an integral part of the hiring process as it allows companies to size potential candidates up and determine whether they’re fit for the job.
While most companies conduct job interviews by meeting candidates physically, some do offer virtual interviews to accommodate those who live far away or cannot attend physical interviews due to unforeseen circumstances.
‘It’s not that tough!’
In a Threads post, an employer shared an encounter he had with a job candidate whom he claimed was acting in an “entitled” manner.
Based on the screenshot of the conversation he had with the candidate, the OP told the candidate that his slot was taken by another person who was willing to have a face-to-face interview.

However, the reply only seemed to rile the candidate up, who protested over the company not offering a virtual job interview.
Why can’t you do online interview instead of face-to-face? It’s not that tough. And meeting up doesn’t mean I will get a job,” he ranted.
The clearly upset candidate also told the OP that he “should be ashamed of himself” for not offering virtual job interviews.

This understandably annoyed the OP, who responded by slamming the candidate for having a rotten attitude towards potential employers.
“Please keep this attitude for the rest of your job hunting period. You will definitely succeed in life. You’re just too good for anyone.
“I hope you can take this compliment well and move forward with your life while I move forward (with) mine,” he wrote sarcastically.
The OP also revealed in the caption that the candidate lived 12km away from the company, adding he wasn’t obliged to make exceptions just because the latter demanded a virtual interview session.

Divided responses
The post has since attracted mixed reactions from netizens, with some expressing agreement and opposition to it.
One questioned why some are resistant to physical job interviews as it is an opportunity for one to view the future company environment and colleagues for themselves.

On the other hand, a netizen questioned the need for physical interviews, saying society must move on with the times and utilise technology.

Meanwhile, some slammed the OP’s response towards the candidate, with one noting that he and the candidate were a “match made in heaven”.
