Live streaming has become more than just casual chats and product sales—it’s now a lucrative career path where performers can earn thousands monthly.
Recently, Malaysian YouTuber Lim Shang Jin surprised many by revealing that he makes up to RM10,000 a month by dancing on livestreams.
From YouTube to livestream dancing
According to The Rakyat Post, Lim’s new venture came to light when a friend playfully “exposed” him by sharing clips of his livestream performances.
At first, some viewers speculated that AI face-swapping technology was involved, but Lim later confirmed that he was indeed dancing live.
This move into live entertainment seems timely, especially since he previously shared the financial struggles of producing his well-known “small talk videos.”
Now, he’s found a new way to sustain his content creation while making a steady income.
A structured path to success
The live-streaming company he joined offers professional dance training and performance opportunities, giving streamers a clear path to success.

Besides performing, Lim has also taken on a recruitment role, potentially increasing his earnings even further.
His team operates during prime viewing hours, from 2pm to 7pm, showing that this isn’t just a casual gig but a well-organised business.

What was once seen as “just dancing online” has now turned into a legitimate career with substantial earning potential.
For Lim, who once joked about needing a “sugar daddy” to fund his content, this new path might be the financial breakthrough he needed.
Interestingly, the same friend who teased him about his dancing has become one of his biggest supporters, regularly sending gifts during his livestreams.
