If you’re are an adult that’s working full-time, one of the main purchases you’ll have to make is to buying a car in order to commute to work. However, not many are able to afford one due to financial constraints.
A young entrepreneur in Kuantan, Pahang, recently turned heads after she was able to buy a brand new Mercedes not with a credit card, but in cold, hard cash.
M’sian influencer buys RM170K Mercedes with cash
Speaking to mStar about her latest purchase, 19-year-old influencer Nurin Lofa, whose real name is Nurin Lofa Adrianna Kirana, said that she bought the car last Thursday (Nov 30).
‘In 2021, I bought a Toyota Velfire but after using it for five months, I sold it off and bought a Honda Jazz.
“However, since it was a secondhand car, it has trouble travelling long distances and it got me wanting to buy a new car and have an ‘upgrade’ to a Mercedes instead.
At first I thought my dream was too high as I wasn’t the founder of a product. But after calculating my budget, I realised that it was still within my means,” she said.
Eventually, Nurin settled for a Mercedes Benz CLA180, which she bought with cash at RM170,000 after selling off the Honda Jazz.
The 19-year-old influencer, who boasts of 1.7 million followers on TikTok and currently earns a living by modelling and doing reviews on her social media accounts, said her next dream is to either operate a carwash or have a rental car business as she’s looking for a long-term source of income.
As it is with most influencers, Nurin isn’t immune to constant negative comments by netizens but is taking it all in with stride.
“While there’s nothing wrong with criticising me, there are proper ways to do so. If you want to criticise, do it civilly. If not, just pray. If we use words to berate others, then it’s a sin.”
