A 50-year-old housewife was fined RM1,000 by the Magistrate’s Court after pleading guilty to hitting a man with a broom in Puchong last month.
The incident took place at 7.30pm on July 5 at the security guard post of a primary school.

According to court documents, the man was standing outside the guard post when he was approached by two women. One of them, the accused, proceeded to hit him on the arm with a broom.
According to a report by Harian Metro, her actions were allegedly sparked by dissatisfaction over the man humiliating her during a TikTok livestream.
The entire incident was captured on the security post’s CCTV camera.
Faced up to 1 year in jail
She was charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, which carries a maximum sentence of one year in prison, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both.

The prosecution argued for a sentence reflecting the seriousness of the offence.
Her lawyer, however, appealed for leniency, citing that she has two school-going children, no previous criminal record, and had already spent two days in police remand, which he said had given her “a sense of remorse”.
‘This is about dignity’
The court fined her RM1,000, with a one-month jail term if she failed to pay. She paid the fine.
Speaking after the proceedings, the woman admitted she lost her temper after the man’s actions on social media.
This is about dignity, and I cannot tolerate such matters. That is why I acted the way I did,” she said.
