A 37-year-old Malaysian man has gone viral after sharing an anonymous confession about how his 10-year marriage ended.
In the post, he admitted he was a “mama’s boy” and failed to protect his wife from his mother’s behaviour.
Wife gave up RM17K job after marriage
According to him, his wife used to work as a supervisor at a listed company in Brunei, earning about RM17,000 a month.
After they got married, she chose to quit her job and become a housewife to take care of their children.
Claims she was mistreated by mother-in-law
He said he was aware that his mother did not like his wife and often made things difficult for her.
His wife had previously told him she was asked to wash the car and clean the house under the hot sun while the maids rested.
However, he dismissed it at the time, saying his mother might not have known the maids were free.
Japan trip incident worsened situation
He also shared that he once arranged a Japan trip for his wife, mother, and sisters to bond.
During the trip, his wife allegedly had to give them full-body massages every night, which left her in tears.
Although he later fell out with his sisters over the incident, he admitted he did not properly address the situation.
Blind date arranged by mother became final straw
The situation escalated when his mother arranged a blind date for him.
Despite feeling reluctant, he went along with it, which his wife later found out about.
This led to a confrontation where she brought up multiple past incidents.
Wife filed for divorce after years of frustration
He said his wife eventually asked for a divorce, telling him that the person he loved most was his mother.
She added that she no longer wanted to put him in a difficult position.

Reflecting on the marriage, he said his wife had no family in Malaysia and endured everything without complaint.
She had also supported him financially during his difficult years.
However, he admitted he only realised her sacrifices after losing her.
He also claimed that his mother responded to the divorce by saying that no one would want his wife as she has a child.
