Window shattered after she boarded in Arau
According to her replies, she boarded the train at Arau at around 5.54pm, on the service running from Padang Besar to Butterworth.

She said the window shattered while the train was travelling towards Kodiang.
Photos shared in the thread showed a large opening in the broken window, with glass fragments covering several blue passenger seats and the carriage floor.
The woman said she had been sitting directly beside the affected window.
I’m not sure, because the window suddenly shattered behind my head,” she wrote in response to someone asking whether a stone had been thrown.
She repeatedly clarified that she did not know what caused it.
Glass struck her head

In her original post, the woman said she still felt dazed and dizzy after being hit by the glass.
She later reassured concerned commenters that she had not suffered any injuries, although her head remained dizzy from the impact.
Alhamdulillah, I’m not injured, but I feel dizzy because the glass hit my head.”
After a commenter urged her to get checked, she replied that she would go to the hospital.
She also expressed concern for another woman whose face had allegedly been struck by glass fragments, adding that she did not know how the other passenger was doing.
Other passengers describe a loud bang
Several commenters who said they were on the same train also shared their experiences.
One said she and her friend had been sitting beside the window and were trying to stay awake after returning from class when they suddenly heard a sound resembling an explosion.
We were so shocked because the glass breaking was incredibly loud. My whole body was shaking,” the commenter wrote.
Another passenger said she had been sitting directly behind the affected area and screamed when it happened.
Other photos posted in the replies showed broken glass scattered across the carriage.
KTMB confirms incident and launches investigation
Responding in the thread, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) confirmed receiving a report of damage to a window on the left side of a coach on a Butterworth-bound train that afternoon.

The operator said it was taking the incident seriously and conducting further investigations to identify the actual cause.
It added that repairs would be carried out to ensure passengers’ safety and comfort.
Although one commenter alleged that stone throwing was involved, the cause had not been established in KTMB’s response, and the woman herself said she was unsure what had happened.
Update: 14-year-old boy arrested over stone throwing
Police have since arrested a 14-year-old boy who allegedly admitted to throwing a stone at the train, causing the window to shatter.
According to Sinar Harian, Arau district police chief Superintendent Ahmad Mohsin Md Rodi said the secondary school student was arrested at a house in Kampung Guar Sanji on Saturday (Oct 31), following the incident on Thursday (Oct 29).
Preliminary investigations found that he allegedly threw the stone while near the Kampung Jelempok motorcycle overpass with four friends. Police said the other four did not participate and only witnessed the incident.
Police also seized a mobile phone and a stone believed to be linked to the case.
The teenager, who reportedly has no previous criminal record, was being held at the Kangar police station lock-up to assist investigations under Section 427 of the Penal Code.
