M’sian Hikers Choose Laughter Over Panic When Swarmed By Bees At The Peak

When bees attack but you’ve already accepted your fate.
Nature has a funny way of humbling us.

One minute you’re soaking in the scenic views, the next you’re reminded that you’re just a guest in someone else’s home especially when that “someone” has wings and a stinger.

This was the exact reality two Malaysian hikers faced during what was supposed to be a peaceful and rewarding trek.

But instead of panicking when things went south, their surprisingly chill reaction turned them into viral sensations overnight.

In a TikTok video posted by @ouja._, the two men had just reached the summit of their hike at Puncak Gunung Datuk, Negeri Sembilan.

The vibe was all good until a swarm of bees suddenly showed up, turning the serene moment into a frantic yet hilarious scene.

Caught off guard and with no obvious escape, the pair could only pace around while giggling nervously, clearly aware of how ridiculous and slightly terrifying the situation was.

Instead of flailing or running, they leaned into the chaos, choosing laughter over panic.

The video owner, who was just as stunned, captured the entire incident and even added a cheeky caption: “Two heartbroken men. At that moment, they were probably deciding whether to get stung or jump off instead.”

In response to one netizen’s comment that read, “I think the guy holding the phone is the safest because he’s holding the phone. That’s it,” the original poster later shared a follow-up video and it turns out, he wasn’t that safe after all.

The clip shows him getting stung on the face and neck, yet somehow still managing to smile through the pain, proving that his chill attitude was very much real (and not just for the camera).

‘My friend actually went into shock because of the number of stings’

We reached out to Aniq, the man behind the viral video, and he gave us the full story and yes, it’s just as wild as it looks.

According to Aniq, the bee attack happened when they were already at the summit.

“The bees attacked us at the peak,” he said.

My friend and I got stung pretty badly. He had to go to the emergency room because he’s allergic to stings.”

While many were amazed at how calm the two appeared, Aniq shared that it was more of a ‘redha’ moment.

“At that point, I just accepted it,” he admitted.

“We ran to a different spot until the bees stopped chasing us. But we had to leave behind our bags and even our Baju Melayu at the top!”

Despite how chill they seemed, the aftermath wasn’t all laughs.

My friend actually went into shock because of the number of stings. It even caused stomach cramps,” Aniq revealed.

He also offered some solid advice for anyone who might find themselves in a similar situation:

Bring proper gear when hiking and most importantly, carry a lighter. If a bee lands on your body or face, stay calm. If one stings you, the others might feel threatened and attack too.”

Thankfully, both Aniq and his friend have fully recovered. “Alhamdulillah, we’re okay now,” he said. “But I really felt bad for my friend. He had it worse.”
