Last week, we wrote about a Grab rider who went viral after he was seen rescuing a small kitten from a busy road, only to have it running back to him in the end.

As days passed after the incident, many have wondered what became of the kitten and whether it was adopted by the rider.
Thankfully, the answer came to them in the form of a TikTok video by Grab Malaysia, who posted an update about the incident.
What happened
In a TikTok video posted by Grab Malaysia yesterday, they unveiled the identity of the Grab rider, whose name was Muthoo.
According to the clip, Muthoo said that he didn’t adopt the kitten as what many believed he would after the creature came running after him.
Instead, he brought it to a nearby residential area and released the kitten at a safe area before continuing with his deliveries.
To reward him for his kindness, the Grab team decided to gift him a goodie bag filled with free groceries for saving the kitten.
Still a hero nonetheless
In the comment section, netizens were disappointed that Muthoo didn’t adopt the kitten as they had hoped.
In response, Grab Malaysia wrote: “At least he took our hearts though he didn’t take the kitten.”
Regardless, netizens were also glad to know that the kitten was safe from harm and thanked Muthoo for going out of his way to save the animal.
