Who says age or circumstances can hold you back? A heartwarming story of a mother-daughter duo graduating together in Business Finance from UiTM’s 100th Convocation has gone viral, capturing the hearts of Malaysians.
She revealed that she initially had no plans to pursue further studies. “I was already comfortable working since I was 19, and I didn’t have any friends to continue my degree with,” she shared on TikTok.
However, her mother, who was 41 at the time, encouraged her with a surprising suggestion:
“She said, ‘Let’s study together. It won’t be boring,’” Siti shared.
It wasn’t just talk. Both of them enrolled in the same course, attended classes side by side, and supported each other throughout their studies.
For her mum, the journey was even more meaningful as she was returning to academia after earning her diploma from a polytechnic years ago.
“My mum didn’t have a degree, she studied at a polytechnic and got a diploma before pursuing her degree at 41 years old, she told WeirdKaya.”
