M’sian Gen Z Flexes His RM7K Salary But Complains About Paying Processing Fee For Myvi Loan

He flexed his salary louder than his common sense.
Behind every car listing online is a human just trying to make a living and sometimes, their patience gets pushed to the limit.

That’s what happened to one Malaysian woman who shared a now-viral Threads post about her short stint selling used cars.

One particularly rude buyer had her questioning if it was even worth staying in the business.

RM7K payslip, but processing fee triggered him

“Tonight, I suddenly feel like sharing a story about handling ‘rude’ customers while doing part-time selling used cars,” she began.

She then dived into a conversation she had with one particular Gen Z buyer who was inquiring about a Perodua Myvi AV 2021/2022 model.

The conversation started out normal but quickly spiralled into a messy back-and-forth that tested her patience.

The conversation went like this:

Gen Z: Myvi, AV 2021/2022
Seller: Yes, sir. We have it.
Gen Z: Is this Atiqah? How many do you have?
Seller: Yes, it’s me. Where are you located?
Gen Z: Can I get a full loan?
Seller: We can try for a full loan, sir.
Gen Z: How many Myvis do you have? Submit the loan ASAP. Myvi AV 2021/2020.
Seller: To submit the loan, there’s a processing fee. It’ll be deducted from the deposit once the loan is approved.
Gen Z: What if the loan doesn’t get approved? Does the money go to waste?
Seller: We refund half. It covers charges for submitting documents to 13 loan panels. If your name is clear, inshaAllah, it should be fine.
Gen Z: Can you send pictures of the car?
Seller: Wait, I’ll find them.
Gen Z: Have you found it?
Seller: I’m not working today. I’ll give you my supervisor’s number. You can contact him.

Gen Z: Processing fee? What law is this, from your father? Half of it goes to an asnaf fund?

That last comment was the final straw.

“Do you think we print with saliva?”

Why are you being so rude?” she snapped back.

First, you want a full loan, then you complain about a processing fee, and now you’re saying, ‘What law is this, from your father?’”

She explained that the processing fee wasn’t a scam; it covered actual costs like submitting documents to multiple loan panels and paying runners to handle paperwork. Canceling a submission last-minute after all that work wasn’t just inconvenient; it cost the sellers real money.

“Because of customers like you, shops charge a processing fee,” she continued.

“Do you think we print papers and pay runners with our saliva?”

She didn’t hold back, calling out his arrogance and sense of entitlement.

Born in 2003, but acting like you’re so grown-up. We’re not asking for charity, okay? If you don’t have the money for the processing fee, please find another shop.”

But the Gen Z customer wasn’t done. He fired back with a condescending tone:

Gen Z: “You think you’re so wise, huh? I fix cars for kids who work. Payslip RM7K maa… Why do you need to go around submitting loans? Talking without using your brain? Oh wait, I forgot, you only have one brain cell.”

To which the woman clapped back with the ultimate burn:

Ohhh, you earn RM7K but still want a full loan and are this picky about a small processing fee?”

He ended the exchange with a low blow, accusing her of being desperate:

Gen Z: “Do you not earn enough to eat? You can apply at my company. Don’t be eating other people’s money like this.”

The post sparked a wave of responses from netizens who either shared similar experiences or expressed support for the woman’s composure (and sharp comebacks).

Many were shocked at the level of entitlement displayed and praised her for setting boundaries with unreasonable customers.
