They say tough times reveal true friendship, but in this case, it also revealed cardio skills, unexpected kindness, and a hilarious misadventure involving a borrowed motorbike.
What was supposed to be a regular road trip quickly turned into an unplanned detour when a group of friends found themselves stranded on the East Coast Expressway (LPT) after their car ran out of fuel.
Instead of panicking, they stayed positive. Two of them even jogged for nearly an hour to find a petrol station, keeping the mood light and filled with laughter along the way.
“Just entered Kuala Terengganu, and already had to run for petrol”

As shared by TikTok user @kimsaguu, the group didn’t just sit around waiting for help. They initially tried flagging down passing vehicles but were unsuccessful.
With time running out and no help in sight, they decided to split into two groups. One remained with the car, while the other set off on foot in search of fuel.

Two of them ended up running 44 minutes to the nearest Petron station.
“Just entered Kuala Terengganu, and already had to run to fill petrol,” one of them joked in the video, still in good spirits.

A surprise twist with a stranger’s helping hand
Luckily, they had brought empty bottles and managed to fill them up. But the journey didn’t end there.

Just as they were figuring out how to get the fuel back to their car, a kind stranger stepped in and did something unexpected.
He lent them his motorbike to help speed up their return. It wasn’t just a small favour, but one that left a lasting impression on the group.

“We were rushing to catch a boat to Redang!”

Speaking to WeirdKaya, Hakim, the person behind the video, revealed that the situation was even more tense than it appeared.
Not only were they stranded, but they were also on a tight schedule to catch a ferry to Pulau Redang at 8:30 AM. Unfortunately, their car broke down around 7:00 AM.
“At first, we called LPT for help, but they said they’d need about half an hour due to another accident,” Hakim shared.
One of us remembered a Petron nearby, so we first tried stopping cars to get a lift. When that failed, the two of us who had rested during the drive volunteered to run instead.”
He also shared how he approached a local man near the petrol station for help.
“I asked if he could send me back, since it would be easier for him to trust me. But he couldn’t leave work, so I asked if I could borrow his motorbike instead. I gave him my wallet as collateral and he just handed me the keys, no questions asked.”
The journey had its fair share of unexpected twists too.
“There was a funny moment that didn’t make it into the TikTok. After passing the petrol to my friend, I headed back to return the bike, but then they called me saying the car wouldn’t start,” he laughed.
“They were so happy to get petrol, but suddenly everything went quiet when the car wouldn’t start. It took a few shakes to get the fuel flowing properly again.”
Still, the best part for Hakim wasn’t just making it through the chaos.
“We broke down at a spot with a beautiful sunrise. And I got to go through it all with my best friends from high school. Even something stressful felt funny when I was with them.”
