M’sian Entrepreneur Offers Free Meals To Over 500 Less Fortunate Individuals Daily

All are welcome regardless of status, religion or ethnicity.
In today’s world, hunger is still a big problem. But there’s someone making a big difference. Mazlina Kamarudin used to work in an office, but now she’s on a mission to give free meals to those who need them. She can’t stand seeing people hungry around her, so she’s doing something about it.

Mazlina’s initiative, known as Rumah Makan Percuma (RMP), has become a beacon of hope for many. Regardless of status, religion, or ethnicity, RMP opens its doors daily to approximately 550 individuals seeking a warm meal, excluding Saturdays, reported Sinar Harian.

Mazlina’s project means a lot to her. She’s doing it because it reminds her of her dad, who was always helping others. She wants to carry on his tradition of being kind and generous to people in need.

“This is my greatest joy (providing free meals) because since I was young, I have been instilled by my late father to do good deeds, and I genuinely intend to benefit the public.

The impact of RMP extends beyond mere sustenance. Mazlina finds joy in witnessing individuals from all walks of life come together to share a meal. In a society where dining out can be a luxury, she believes that everyone deserves access to nutritious food without financial constraints.

I am happy when I see others enjoying eating together because not everyone can afford it, as even if we go to a restaurant, it would cost around RM5 or RM6 for each dish, and perhaps more,” Mazlina shares.

Wealth is actually a test for ourselves

Mazlina doesn’t stop at RMP. She wants other business owners to follow her lead and help their communities too. She hopes her actions will encourage more people to give back and make a difference.

“Sometimes we feel that we are already facing enough difficulties, but in reality, many others are facing more difficulties than us, so what’s wrong with helping each other out? Wealth is actually a test for ourselves and is likened to a flowing river”, Mazlina reflects.
