A bus agency owner shocked the internet by revealing he earns up to RM30k in a day by ferrying Taylor Swift fans from KL to Singapore.
Speaking to BFM, the owner, Amirul, shared how his company capitalized on this demand by providing dedicated bus services for Taylor Swift’s six consecutive concerts.
The service offered to transport hundreds of fans across borders to attend the live performances underscores the high demand for concert-related travel and illustrates how large-scale events can benefit businesses beyond the venue’s immediate vicinity
Making multiple round trips
The income from these services reached up to 30,000 Malaysian Ringgit in just one day, mainly from making three round trips.
He revealed that after deducting costs, he could earn up to 6000 ringgit in profit per day; the cost for one bus is about 4000 ringgit, including fuel, driver’s salary, and bus maintenance expenses.
Amirul also pointed out the company’s success depends on its ability to scale operations according to demand.
The opportunity to increase the number of buses allows for greater earnings, demonstrating a flexible business model that can adjust to the dynamics of event schedules and ticket availability.
Making sure passengers have the best experience
Despite the rewards, the path to success involves challenges. Amirul emphasized the necessity of delivering top-notch service to ensure customer satisfaction and build loyalty.
“I wouldn’t get any passenger without satisfying them.” Amirul shared.
The majority of passengers have many questions regarding the bus trip, procedures such as ICA and CIQ at immigration, and concerns about food and restrooms.
He also shared that one of the biggest challenges is to build trust with his passengers as they have to deal with risks such as ticket, hotel, and transportation scams all the time.
