In today’s fast-paced world, many parents entrust their maids with the crucial responsibility of caring for their children. Unfortunately, finding a trustworthy maid can be incredibly challenging.
This was starkly highlighted by a recent experience shared by Malaysian influencer and doctor, Dr Shazril Shaharuddin.
Dr Shazril recently revealed a harrowing incident via his Instagram account, detailing how he caught his two maids red-handed bringing two men into their home, where they were engaged in a ‘project’ in their room while the baby was present.
The alarming scenario unfolded on 29 July when Dr Shazril was at home while his wife was at work.
The trouble began when a man approached Dr Shazril, claiming to have seen two men entering his house.
Initially dismissing the man’s allegations, Dr Shazril decided to confront his maids for clarification. The maids insisted that the men had left earlier.
However, suspicions grew when Dr Shazril checked the CCTV footage.
It was evident that one maid had placed the child’s water bottle in front of the camera, while the other adjusted the CCTV towards the television, obstructing the view.
As Dr Shazril and his wife were in the house before his wife left for work, the footage revealed the two maids bringing the men inside.
Concerned for the safety of his children, who were asleep in the same room, Dr Shazril immediately called the police.
When the police arrived and entered the maid’s room, Dr Shazril was shocked to find his baby sleeping in a rocker between the two beds of the maid’s room, with the two men hiding under a blanket on the bed.
Although the police could not arrest the men, as they were invited by the maid and not caught breaking in, they advised Dr Shazril to take his baby and handle the situation himself.
Expressing his frustration, Dr Shazril said, “I treated them like human beings, but they treated my children like animals. They exposed my children to strangers. What if my baby had cried while they were engaged in their ‘project’? Could they have harmed or worse, killed my child?”
Determined to prevent such an ordeal from happening again, Dr Shazril took swift action.
One of the maids from Indonesia has been returned to her agency, while another maid from the Philippines is waiting for a call to return, bringing an end to this troubling chapter.
