M’sian Diner Shocked After RM15 Chicken Chop Comes With Bread Strips Instead Of Fries

The fries replacement nobody asked for.
A Malaysian diner was left confused after her chicken chop order allegedly came with sliced bread strips instead of the usual fries.

The incident was shared by a Threads by the OP who posted several photos of the meal. The post has since gone viral, gaining hundreds of thousands of views and sparking plenty of reactions from netizens.

According to her, it was her first time seeing chicken chop served this way.

First time eating chicken chop where the fries were replaced with bread. After that, the chicken chop itself… no need to say already.”

Photos shared by the diner showed a plate with salad, a piece of fried chicken, and several strips of bread placed on the side, where fries would normally be expected.

Menu photo showed fries

What made the situation even more confusing was the menu display shown in the post.

The signboard for the chicken chop appeared to show the dish served with fries, which led many netizens to question why the actual meal looked so different from the advertised photo.

One netizen joked that the shop must have thought customers would not be able to tell that the side dish was bread.

In response, the diner explained that the chicken chop itself also allegedly did not taste like the usual version.

She claimed that the chicken was made using chicken meat that had been flattened thinly before being coated with seasoning similar to “ayam gunting”.

Netizens amused by the dish

The post quickly drew reactions from netizens, many of whom were both amused and shocked by the meal.

One netizen jokingly called it the “lowest point of chicken chop”, while another asked why the diner did not return the dish or refuse to pay.

The diner replied that she was not thinking much at the time, joking that the “fries had disguised themselves as bread”.

Another netizen asked how much the meal cost, to which the OP replied by saying it was RM15.

Some asked if she complained

Several netizens also asked whether she had complained to the shop about the meal.

However, the OP said she did not do so, joking that she did not want people to accuse her of trying to ruin someone’s business.

She also revealed the shop was located in Kelantan, but did not name it.

At the time of writing, it is unclear whether she had raised the issue directly with the shop.
