M’sian Delivery Rider Spills Drink Order, Allegedly Tells Customer To Redo It Herself

"Maybe you should make the drink yourself in the kitchen."
A food delivery job demands professionalism and integrity, but one Malaysian rider has drawn public criticism after allegedly behaving rudely toward a customer whose drink order had spilled.

A woman took to Threads to share her frustration, saying she received an upsetting response from a delivery rider after he informed her via the in-app chat that her drink had toppled over during delivery.

‘Make the drink yourself!’

The woman said she did not blame the rider at first, acknowledging that such accidents are common in delivery work.

However, she became annoyed when the rider responded in what she described as a dismissive and disrespectful tone.

When she asked how the issue could be resolved, the rider allegedly replied: “Maybe you should make the drink yourself in the kitchen.”

‘Mistakes are normal, but don’t be arrogant’

The rider also appeared to apologise in an insincere manner and even accused the woman of being “too petty” in raising the matter.

To make matters worse, he later responded with lyrics from a song, which the woman interpreted as mockery.

Feeling fed up with the rider’s unprofessional behaviour, the woman said she proceeded to file a complaint with the delivery company’s customer service.

“I understand if it was an accident. Everyone makes mistakes. But don’t be so arrogant that you can’t even apologise,” she wrote.

A report was also made to the delivery platform over the rider’s alleged unprofessionalism.
