Food delivery riders are the unsung heroes of our mealtime convenience, zipping through the streets to ensure our favourite dishes arrive piping hot.
But beneath the surface of this seemingly straightforward job lies a minefield of challenges, especially when it comes to personal safety and customer interactions.
While most deliveries go off without a hitch, some riders face interactions that are far from appetising.
M’sian delivery rider shocked by customer’s lewd offer
Recently, a rider known only as @mifzz57 served up a dose of reality by sharing screenshots of disturbing conversations with customers.
These exchanges reveal a disturbing trend where some individuals try to “dish out” inappropriate requests, crossing boundaries that should never be on the menu.
One particularly shocking conversation involved a customer who, unable to pay for their order, suggested a rather unsavoury alternative:
- Rider: “I’m here.”
- Customer: “Bro, I don’t have enough money to pay for the order. Can I give you a b*** j** instead? If you can’t accept, just cancel this order.”
It seems some customers are pushing the envelope too far, with some even explicitly asking the rider to engage in sexual favours.
This isn’t a one-off incident; despite trying different p-hailing services to avoid such “side orders,” the rider continued to face similar harassment.
In his post, @mifzz57 expressed his frustration with these experiences, captioning it with “What a fate,” showing just how tough things can get when the job turns sour.
The reactions from netizens were a mix of shock and support, with many praising the rider for refusing to “bite” on such unethical proposals and calling for better safety and respect for delivery workers.
One comment read: “I respect you for not being swayed.”
Another noted: “Even food riders aren’t safe anymore.”
A third chimed in with encouragement: “Stay strong, bro. Amen.”
