M’sian Couple Visits Grave Of Son Who Converted To Islam, Netizens Touched By Loving Gesture

A love that goes beyond death.
No matter how much parents argue or have sharp disagreements with their children, they would always continue to show their love and care even if their child chooses to go down a different path.

An elderly Chinese couple recently went viral after a photo showed them paying a visit to their son’s grave at a Muslim cemetery, where their display of unconditional love has deeply touched netizens.

In a photo shared by a woman named Joy MamaNunai MamaNunai on Facebook, it showed the couple cleaning the Muslim grave of their son with a bottle of water.

After they cleaned the grave, Joy wrote that the couple proceeded to meditate before they realised that they were being watched by her and returned her gaze with a smile.

“I then asked them who this grave belonged to and they said it belonged to their son who died from brain cancer four years ago.

“They also told me that he had converted to Islam after he married a Malay woman and I couldn’t help but to shed tears upon hearing their story.

“Despite their child changing religion, the love of a father and mother remained endless and unconditional. This is a lesson for us today. Always love your children unconditionally,” she wrote.

Netizens send their condolences

The photo has since garnered more than 3,000 reactions and tugged at the heartstrings of netizens, who were touched by the couple’s display of love for their deceased son.

‘Although I’ve converted to Islam, I still visit my late mother’s grave, who was a Christian. A mother’s love is irreplaceable and I miss it for sure. May their souls rest in peace.’

Another shared that his mother couldn’t touch the body of his elder brother who died in an accident as she was forbidden to do so by the ustaz.
