If you’re a heavy user of TikTok, you’d come across challenges on the platform where one is required to do something or perform an action as a form of penalty.
In recent weeks, there has been a handful of Malaysian content creators who took part in a TikTok challenge where the loser must wash his/her face with toilet water as forfeit. No, you’re not reading it wrongly!
M’sian content creators wash their faces with toilet water
The disturbing challenge was shared on Facebook by a netizen named ‘Komando Marco’ on July 15, it showed two videos of four content creators taking part in the stomach-churning stunt.
In the first clip, a woman, who was the ‘loser’, is seen dipping both hands into the toilet bowl as the male ‘victor’ watches on in glee.
After a moment of hesitation, she then scoops a handful of toilet water and splashes it on her face, like how one would do to freshen up when they wake up in the morning.
The action is then repeated for another two times before the challenge officially ends, with the woman turning to the side and spitting out some of the water which had entered her mouth.
In the second video, the ‘loser’, which was a man in a black shirt, was braver in completing the challenge, where he submerged both hands into the squat toilet to fetch the water.
As he splashed the water across his face and rubbed his face with it, it proved to be too much to bear for the female ‘victor’, who covered her eyes in horror at one point.
The videos have since achieved virality on TikTok, where it was shared under the hashtag ‘air jamban’ (toilet water in Malay) on the platform multiple times.

In the Facebook post, the OP lamented that content creators were willing to stoop so low and partake in such disgusting challenges in order to earn extra money.
Netizens were also horrified by the clips and wondered what could have driven the content creators to subject themselves to such a revolting punishment.
No matter how badly you need the money, don’t risk your health by taking part in such challenges!
