KUALA LUMPUR – Comedian Lan Pet Pet landed himself in hot water after a video of him beating a man believed to be a food delivery rider surfaced on social media last night (April 4).
The 24-second video, which a passer-by recorded, showed Lan placing the man in a headlock and punching his head once.
Before Lan could lunge at the man, three other passers-by held him back and tried to calm him down.
Still boiling with rage, Lan yelled at the man and asked him whether he knew who he was dealing with.
“Do you know who I am?!”
However, it could not be ascertained when and where the incident took place.
Meanwhile, Lan has not released a public statement about his actions so far.
Checkered past
According to Harian Metro, Lan, whose real name is Mazlan Ahmad, has had a record of assaulting people. In April 2019, he was caught hitting Yahya Manap, a security guard who worked at Acacia Park Desa Jati, Nilai, Negri Sembilan.
The Seremban Magistrate Court later fined him RM2,000 on April 15 after he pleaded guilty.
