‘I just asked for a prayer break’

In her post, the woman described the workplace as a “viral squishy shop” in SS15.
Guys, I just got fired just because I asked for a ‘prayer break’. This is at that viral squishy shop in SS15,” she wrote.
However, the screenshots shared did not include further details about the conversation leading up to her alleged dismissal or the employer’s explanation.
Claims another staff member resigned on her first day

In a follow-up post, the woman also claimed that another employee had resigned on the day she started working there.
According to her, the employee left because they could not cope with the pressure.
By the way, guys, on my first day at work, one staff member resigned because they couldn’t take the pressure. And today, they fired me, so I don’t know anymore,” she wrote.
She did not specify how long she had worked at the shop before the alleged dismissal.
Netizens urge her to report the matter
In the comments, one user urged her to contact the labour office immediately.
Others claimed they had experienced similar situations at previous workplaces.
One commenter said a past experience had prompted them to ask about prayer arrangements whenever they attended a job interview.
“Ever since this happened to me, I ask about prayers at every job interview. One recruiter even asked, ‘There are still bosses who don’t let employees pray?’”
Another claimed they had been dismissed from a job after SPM for going to a surau to pray, adding that the shop had since closed.
