A Malaysian man has opened up about how his first relationship allegedly turned into years of emotional and financial stress.
In an anonymous post shared by XUAN on their Facebook page, he said he never expected his first love to become a “nightmare” that he still finds difficult to fully walk away from.
Met her while working at a hotel
The man shared that he met the woman, who was from China, while working as a hotel front desk staff.
After chatting regularly during his night shifts, they added each other on WeChat and gradually became close.
He said she later asked him to help with school and translation matters for her younger sister, and their relationship slowly developed from there.
As it was his first relationship, he admitted he was very happy and willing to do a lot for her.
Relationship became emotionally draining
However, he claimed things started changing after they got together.
According to him, the woman had unstable emotions and would get angry over certain matters, including one incident where he did not pay for her younger sister’s meal.
They later broke up once through email, leaving him devastated for months.
After he began meeting new people, he claimed she suddenly appeared at his workplace and pressured him to choose between her and someone new.
In the end, he chose to get back together with her.
Claimed she lied about being pregnant
The man also alleged that she once lied about being pregnant to test him.
He said he initially panicked, but later told her he would take responsibility if she gave birth.
Only then did she allegedly admit that she was never pregnant.
After they reconciled, he claimed the relationship became worse, with more arguments, emotional pressure, and financial demands.
Felt like an ATM
He said he slowly began paying for most of their expenses, including meals, hotels, transport, and even her phones.
When they broke up for the second time, he claimed she calculated past expenses and demanded repayment, including gifts she had given him.
Out of fear that she would disturb him at work, he said he agreed to transfer money to her every month.
He claimed she later began demanding a monthly “household allowance” too.
Allegedly went to Bali with another man
The man said things changed further when she went to Bali and suggested that they stop contacting each other temporarily.
However, after she sent him photos from the trip, he noticed something was off and later suspected that she had travelled with another man.
He claimed she denied it at first, before later saying the man had a wife and children.
Despite this, he alleged that she still continued asking him for money.
On one occasion, when he could not give her the full amount because he had taken his family on a trip, she allegedly told him:
You bringing your family on holiday is your business. You still have to give me the money.”
Finally realised it was not love anymore
The man said that was the moment he felt completely disappointed and realised the relationship no longer felt like love.
Instead, he felt controlled, pressured, and financially drained.
He claimed she later demanded a large “breakup fee” and even wanted to take back the things she had previously given him.
Looking back, he said the hardest part was not just being deceived, but knowing he was already in pain and still not daring to leave.
He ended his post by saying that not everyone we love deeply is worth sacrificing ourselves for.
