Malaysians were left disgusted after a netizen exposed a bus driver and local TikToker who posted videos accompanied with captions that reeked of predatory behaviour towards young girls.
The issue later caught the attention of a federal minister who called upon police to take swift action.
M’sian bus driver posts clips of him calling schoolgirls his ‘crush’
According to a now-viral tweet by @JatIkhwan, it showed several screenshots taken from a TikTok account owned by a bus driver who goes by the moniker of ‘Abang Bas’ on TikTok.
In one of the screenshots, it showed ‘Abang Bas’ casting a rather longing look at a young girl he was fetching to school.
In the caption, he wrote: ‘Harini crush kita busy buat homework’ (Today our crush is busy doing her homework) before ending it with a love face emoji.
In another screenshot from one of ‘Abang Bas’ videos, it showed him fetching a group of schoolgirls along with the caption: ‘Siapa kejut kesayangan saya ni’ (Who scared the love of my life) and putting an angry face emoji at the end.
According to @JatIkhwan, he said many have raised red flags about ‘Abang Bas’ due to the rather predatory captions and the fact that he had over 600,000 followers.
The captions don’t sit right with me. You don’t post someone’s daughter who’s still in primary school with the caption “harini crush kita buat homework”,” he wrote.
A quick check by WeirdKaya on the videos shared by @JatIkhwan found that the TikToker has since either deleted or changed the caption of the incriminating videos.
Minister calls for police to act
It didn’t take long for the tweet to blow up, where it even caught the attention of Women, Family, and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.
In a tweet posted on the same day, she wrote that such “behaviour is not accepted and shouldn’t be normalised”.

‘Abang Bas’ arrested
Thankfully, the police wasted no time in nabbing the bus driver at an undisclosed location in Simpang Renggam, near Kluang at 2.57am today.
In a statement by Johor police chief M. Kumar, he said a team from the Kluang police Criminal Investigation Division (CID) conducted the arrest after they receieved a report.
A mobile phone believed to be used in filming the schoolgirls was also seized.
The case is now being probed under Section 15 (a)(iii) of the Sexual Offenses Against Children Act 2017 and Section 15(2) of the Child Act 2001.
These sections deal with matters relating to child pornography and posting images of children who are under legal protection.
