2 M’sian Boys Forced To Seek Shelter At Welfare Home After Relatives Throw Them Out

No way home.
Thinking that they would finally leave their painful lives behind by staying with relatives, two boys found their hopes being cruelly dashed when those same relatives kicked them out for no reason.

Left with nowhere else to go, they were forced to seek shelter at a welfare home in Johor Bahru which had previously taken them in not too long ago.

Suffered neglect & abuse

In a Facebook post by Herman Sudil, who’s the manager of TBQ Amal Welfare Organisation, he wrote the boys’ mother divorced when they were still young.

When she passed, the boys found themselves being ping-ponged between multiple guardians and places of residence until they finally settled in with their biological father.

However, it marked the beginning of a living nightmare as the boys were beaten by their father after they expressed their wish to go to school instead of working for him.

In fact, the beatings were so severe that they were hospitalised for two weeks.

Thrown out

Authorities eventually stepped in after being alerted of the abuse and the boys were sent to the TBQ Amal Children’s Shelter Home in Johor.

Several relatives from another state later volunteered to take care of the boys, leading them to believe that they had finally found a place to call home.

Unfortunately, it did not last long as the boys returned home from school one day and found their clothes being thrown out from the house.

Headed back to welfare home

Left with nowhere else to go, the boys decided to return to the only place they felt could offer them safety: TBQ Amal Children’s Shelter Home.

They asked to return to Johor not because they knew many people there, but because TBQ Amal was the safest place they had ever known.

“We bought them bus tickets and they eventually arrived at the Larkin Terminal where our warden picked them up,” Herman wrote.

He added that throughout the boys’ lives, what they carried inside their bags throughout their tumultuous lives was the hope that maybe just one day, they could lay their heads at a place full of warmth and love.
