During schooling days, assemblies can get pretty long and boring, especially when lengthy speeches are involved.
A recent TikTok video posted by @sufimuhamad2 has gone viral after a young boy is seen dozing off during assembly despite his friend’s attempt to keep him awake.
M’sian Boy Dozes Off During His First Day Of School
In the adorable 17-second clip, the 7-year-old boy named Yusuf is seen struggling to keep his eyes open as his head kept jerking forward several times.
One of his classmates who noticed him losing concentration tried to jolt him awake by giving him a slight nudge but it had little effect Yusof continued to doze off.
Speaking to WeirdKaya, the father of the boy, Sufi, said the incident took place during his son’s first day of school which started at 1.30pm.
He was actually very excited for his first day at school and went to bed at 10pm the previous day. Yet, he still felt sleepy as he woke up at 6am to attend religion classes.
Sufi added that the video was captured around 4:30pm, not long after the lunch break, which was probably why Yusuf couldn’t help but fall asleep.
“After school, I asked Yusuf about him falling asleep and he said he felt drowsy after eating his meal. His teacher then told him to freshen up by washing his face.
‘I later posted the video online as I wanted to share my son’s cute reaction on his first day of school and this is something he’s never done before,” he said, adding that he’s happy to know that netizens find it adorable too.

The clip has since garnered more than 630,000 views at the time of writing and netizens commented how Yusuf reminded them of their schooling days.
