M’sian Boss Asks Ex-Employee He Fired For Help After Relative He Hired At Lower Pay Resigns

The ex-employee trained the newbie for months, only to learn he’d be replaced by him.
In the world of work, respect, fair treatment, and trust are key ingredients for maintaining strong professional relationships. Unfortunately, not every employer values these principles.

A shocking confession shared on the UTAR Confessions – ALL Rejected / Censor Original Posts Facebook page brings to light a toxic situation that many employees can relate to.

The story unfolds with a Malaysian employee being fired by his boss after being asked to train a new hire – a relative of the boss – for a position that the employee had held for quite some time.

The new hire, said to be earning half the salary of the fired employee, was brought in just to replace the seasoned employee.

This confession was shared by the ex employee himself, reveals the emotional and financial struggles he faced during the whole ordeal.

Four and a half months ago, he was told to train the new employee, and just last month, he was let go under the claim that the new hire was now fully capable of taking over his job.

To make matters worse, this happened when his wife was eight months pregnant, leaving the employee feeling trapped and unable to break the news to her.

Instead, he continued to go to work, pretending everything was fine.

Luckily, the employee found a way out with the help of a colleague in the same industry, leading to a smooth transition to a new job. But the drama didn’t end there.

Boss Comes Back Looking for Help

The very same boss who had fired him reached out later, asking for help. In a WhatsApp screenshot shared by the ex-employee, the boss texted:

“Hi bro, the new employee has resigned, and I need your advice on some technical issues. Are you free now? Line 5 GXB, all machines are down.” the boss texted him.

In response, the former employee didn’t hold back, replying:

‘FREE?? Free you?! Didn’t you say the new hire, who’s earning half my salary, could replace me?! I’m no longer your employee! One machine setting costs RM2000. Stop wasting my time! Payment must be made first!’ he vented his frustration.

What do you think about this? Was the boss being unreasonable in firing the employee after promising that the new hire would replace him?

And is it fair for the boss to ask for help after treating him this way? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
