Malaysian men’s doubles badminton ace Goh Sze Fei has officially tied the knot.
The 27-year-old got married on August 1, but only revealed the joyous news on social media the following day, much to the surprise and delight of fans.
“Officially Mr. and Mrs. Goh”
In an Instagram post on August 2, Goh shared a series of stunning wedding photos, captioned, “Officially Mr. and Mrs. Goh.”
The post quickly garnered hundreds of congratulatory messages, including from fellow athletes and figures in Malaysia’s sports scene.

Among them was his trusted partner, Nur Izzuddin, who commented, “Congrats bro, let’s go!”
Goh had earlier announced his engagement on Christmas Eve last year, posting a sweet moment from a trip to Japan where his then-girlfriend said yes.
The couple’s journey has now come full circle with their recent wedding, witnessed by close family and friends.
Receive blessing from prominent figures
The celebration was met with warm responses not just from fans, but also from national and international players, coaches, and sports officials.
Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh joined the chorus of well-wishers, writing, “Congratulations newlyweds!” in the comments section of Goh’s post.
Several prominent figures in the badminton world also extended their congratulations, further amplifying the celebratory mood.
Goh’s wedding follows that of fellow national shuttler Ong Yew Sin, who registered his marriage two months ago, marking yet another happy occasion in Malaysian badminton.
Preparing for BWF World Championships
Now back to the court, Goh and Nur Izzuddin are preparing for their third appearance at the BWF World Championships, set to begin on August 25.
The pair previously reached the Round of 16 in both 2021 and 2022 and are looking to make a deeper run this time, especially after reaching the world No.1 ranking earlier this year.
From a romantic proposal in Japan to a wedding celebrated with love and support from the badminton community, Goh’s journey into married life begins with strong backing both on and off the court.
