An 11-month-old baby girl died in her mother’s arms after the car carrying their family of three crashed into a herd of cows along Jalan Kerayong to Simpang Kepayang.
The incident happened at about 9.40pm at Kilometre 49 of the route, according to Bera district police chief Superintendent Zulkiflee Nazir.

On the way to buy milk for their baby
Police said the father, 22, was driving a Perodua Bezza from Kepayang towards Kerayong.
The family was believed to be heading out to buy milk for their child before the accident happened.
When the car reached the location, a herd of cows suddenly ran across the road from the left side.
Reported by Kosmo!, the driver could not avoid them in time and crashed into the animals. The impact caused the car to skid and land on the road shoulder.

Baby did not survive
The victim, identified as Nur Adriana Amira Mohamad Norismail, was rushed to Klinik Bandar 32 but was pronounced dead while receiving treatment.
Her mother, who was holding her in the front passenger seat, suffered head injuries. The father was not hurt.
Police investigating case
The baby’s body was sent to the Forensic Unit of Bera Hospital for a post mortem.
Police are investigating the incident under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
