The fully developed body of a baby boy was found buried behind a house in Taman Mutiara, Kangar, in Perlis last Saturday (Dec 30).
The baby’s body was found around 10.30 am by a 44-year-old male teacher, who smelt a foul odour coming from his backyard, reported Kosmo.
When he went to take a closer look, he stumbled upon the baby boy’s body wrapped in a white cloth and buried approximately 12.7 centimetres deep.

According to Harian Metro, Kangar District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Yusharifuddin Mohd. Yusop said the teacher reported the incident to police at the Kangar police station immediately.
Initial examinations showed that the infant had a body length of 46 centimetres with the umbilical cord still attached.
The main suspect in the case, who was later detained by police, gave birth to him inside the bathroom on Dec 20.
“When she saw that the baby was lifeless, the suspect panicked and went to bury the child behind her neighbour’s house the next morning.
“The infant’s body was sent to the Forensic Unit of the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar for an autopsy, which was conducted on Dec 31,” said Yusharifuddin.
The case is currently being probed under Section 318 of the Penal Code and the suspect was remanded for another two days to aid investigations.
