A 21-year-old Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Machang campus student recently shared a heartfelt story on social media, narrating the loss of a treasured car that had been a gift from his family.

According to mstar, tragedy struck when the Proton Saga, used daily by the student for commuting between his rental accommodation and the university, was involved in an accident in Kelantan on 10 September.

At that time, the car was being driven by his older brother.
Despite the vehicle sustaining irreversible engine damage and being declared a total loss, the student expressed a deep sense of gratitude that no lives were lost in the incident, and the injuries were minor.
The car was more than just a means of transportation; it was a precious gift from his family last October to facilitate his daily commute.
Car loan still unsettled
Due to budget constraints, it was a secondhand purchase, and payments on the car loan were still ongoing at the time of the accident.
Though the loss of the vehicle has undeniably brought inconvenience and sadness, the student emphasized the silver lining — the safety and well-being of his brother, who only sustained minor injuries.
He confessed to feeling ‘paralyzed’ without the vehicle, which had played a vital role in his daily routines.
Nonetheless, he expressed a mature and thankful perspective, valuing his family’s safety over the material loss.
