One netizen on Xiaohongshu recently shared a funny encounter after her car was blocked by a double-parked vehicle.
As she approached the car, she noticed the owner had thoughtfully left their phone number displayed on the dashboard—except the “number” turned out to be the very phone they’d left in the car.
The netizen attempted to call the number displayed on the dashboard, only for the phone inside the car to start ringing.
Bursting into laughter, she gave a few honks to alert the owner, who rushed back, looking flustered.
The double-parker apologised profusely, explaining that she couldn’t find a parking space and had panicked.
Speaking to WeirdKaya, the netizen speculated that the driver might’ve been in a hurry to bring a sick pet to the vet, noting how the driver emerged from a nearby clinic.
“In less than 15 minutes, she’s back. Maybe she has a watch linked to her phone; I’m not sure, but we just found it very funny.”
Many joked about the irony of leaving a phone number—quite literally—on the spot.
