Undergoing plastic surgery can be a life-changing decision, but for one Malaysian actress, it turned into a painful nightmare.
Recently, Malaysian actress Zarina Anjouline, better known as Anju, revealed that she had to remove her nose implant after suffering a severe infection.
The 38-year-old shared that the botched procedure, which was done in Vietnam, led to excessive swelling, fever, and unbearable pain.
Kosmo! reported that the infection was caused by an unclean surgical procedure, which involved using a second-hand silicone implant.
A silent infection that took over
I regret getting my nose done. The infection started silently back in Vietnam—on the outside, everything seemed fine, but inside, it was eating away at my nose,” she explained in an Instagram video.
The infection worsened over time, causing redness, fever, and body aches.
Desperate to remove the implant, Anju chose not to wait for a hospital appointment and instead had it taken out at a beauty clinic owned by a friend.
Horrifying discovery & pus explosion
“When they removed the implant, I was shocked to find out it had been used by someone else before. It had been cleaned and then implanted into me,” she revealed.
By the time the silicone was extracted, the infection had spread throughout her body, causing severe sinus issues, coughing, and phlegm build-up.
The moment they removed it, pus literally burst out,” she added.
Despite the terrifying ordeal, Anju is relieved to have her original nose back, saying the stitching done in Malaysia was much neater compared to the one in Vietnam.
“I don’t know how people willingly go through nose jobs—it’s painful, uncomfortable, and such a hassle. I’m just happy to have my old nose again,” she said.
Anju initially underwent the procedure in Vietnam to remove a bump on her nose, with the surgery being fully sponsored by an aesthetic clinic.
However, she now strongly advises against getting cosmetic procedures from unverified clinics abroad.
